Herbert F. Lannon


NORWOOD - Mr. Herbert F. Lannon, 88, died Thursday, Sept, 6, 2007, at home in Norwood, following a short illness.

He was the husband of the late Margaret (Freeland) Lannon.

Born in Boston, Mr. Lannon lived in Norwood since 1971.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Atlantic aboard the USS Edison and the USS Buck as an ensign.

He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., in 1941.

After serving in the Navy, Mr. Lannon worked as a certified tax agent in Boston as vice president of the Woodstock Corp.

Mr. Lannon was a member of the Lions Club in Millis and was an active member of St. Catherine's Parish in Norwood. After his retirement, Mr. Lannon worked as a tax consultant for Wm. Darling, CPA, in Boston.

He leaves his children, Margaret L. Thorne and her husband, David A., of Norwood; Herbert F. Lannon Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Millis; Mary Ann Keister of North Attleboro; Sarah Malneritch of Norwood; Matthew H. Lannon nd his wife, Therese, of Centreville, Va.; and Nancy Loring and her husband, Robert, of North Attleboro; his brother, Warren Lannon of Brookline; his grandchildren, Carolyn Thorne and her husband, Joseph Ziska; Heather Kollath and her husband, Tony; Megan and Matthew Malneritch; Herbert F. Lannon III; Margaret Loring; Rebecca Keister; Michael Keister and his wife, Angela; Adam and Patrick Keister; Dominique and her husband, Jamie Fiegel; and Jessica Lannon; and four great-grandchildren.

He was also the brother of the late George T. Lannon Jr.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Sept. 10, at 9 a.m., in St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood.

Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery in Norwood.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., Norwood.

Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Caritas Good Samaritan Hospice, 3 Edgewater Drive, Norwood, MA 02062.


Kevin R. Muzzy

HOLLISTON - Kevin R. Muzzy, 21, of Holliston died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, in a motorcycle accident in Millis.

Born in Natick, he was the son of Richard D. and Donna A. (Mullin) Muzzy Jr. of Holliston, and was a lifelong resident of Holliston.

He worked at R.P. Marzilli & Co. of Medway for the past four years.

A member of St. Mary Church, he enjoyed playing high school hockey, men's league hockey at the Norfolk Arena and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed his two labs, Heath and Fenway.

Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, Adriane E. Muzzy of Holliston; his grandparents, Richard and Eleanor Mullin of Cotuit and formerly Wellesley; his aunts and uncles, Martha Nilsen and her husband, Bob, and Jodi Gallagher; and several cousins.

He was the grandson of the late Richard and Polly Muzzy, and nephew of the late Ellen Farnham and her husband, John.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., Rte. 16, Holliston (ChesmoreFuneralHome.com).

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Church of Holliston on Monday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.

Memorial donations may be made to Charles River Association for Retarded Citizens, 59 East Militia Heights, Needham, MA 02492.
