Born in Northampton Aug. 31, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Stephanie (Kobyra) Bartusewicz."

Nancy S. Curran, taught in Hadley
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. - Nancy S. Curran, 78, of Springfield, Vt., and formerly of Amherst, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Vt. 

 Robert Delabarre
COLRAIN - Robert C. Delabarre, 47, of 360 Wilson Hill Road, died Sept. 7 at home. He was born Aug. 11, 1960, in South Williamson, Ky., the son of Z. Lou (Ezzell) Delabarre and the late Everett M. Delabarre. He grew up in Kentucky and San Antonio, Texas, and was educated in Bement School in Deerfield, and later Eaglebrook. In earlier years, he lived in Conway, moving to Colrain in 2004. 

 Audrey Duckert; longtime professor of English at UMass
HADLEY - Audrey R. Duckert, 80, of Maplewood Terrace, died Sept. 6 at Sunbridge of Hadley. Born in Cottage Grove, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mabel (Hoveland) Duckert. 

 Thomas Keane
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Thomas Donald Keane, 67, passed away on Aug. 28, in Jacksonville, Fla. at his home. Tom was born on Jan. 12, 1940 in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of the late Thomas and Helen (Mazeski) Keane. He was raised and educated in Northampton, attending local schools and graduating from Northampton High School.

NORTHAMPTON - Shirley K. (Gillman) Novotny of Northampton passed away June 29 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. 

 Maxine Remaly
EASTHAMPTON - Maxine C. (Crandell) Remaly, 87, of Cranberry Lane, Easthampton, died Aug. 28 at Hampshire Care in Leeds. 

 Anita Roddick; entrepreneur with a heart
Anita Roddick, founder of the Body Shop and Britain's leading female entrepreneur, whose cruelty-free cosmetics and environmentally sensitive packaging helped change the worldwide skin-care industry, died of a brain hemorrhage Monday at St. Richard's Hospital in Chichester, West Sussex, England. She was 64.
