Alfred R. "Red" Lagace, 62 years old, died on Friday November 21, 2008 in the Brigham and  Womens Hospital, Boston, following a long courageous battle with lung disease.  He was born in Taunton son of the late Roland and Theresa M.R. ( Lambert) Lagace.  He was educated at the former St. Jacques Grammar School and was  1964 graduate of Taunton High School.  He was the loving husband for 39 years of Beatrice M. (Cardin) Lagace.  He was employed as a fork lift operator for Hall Smith-Sysco from 1975 to 1992 until he had to retire after receiving a heart transplant.  He previously worked for Strojny Glass Co in Taunton.  He enjoyed restoring antique automobiles, working around the house that he built with his late father, spending time with his friends, keeping up on the current political events and watching his granddaughter grow.  Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters, Rochelle M. Lagace of East Warwick, RI and Danielle R. Glynn and her husband Josh of Taunton, his special “ pumpkin” his granddaughter Kayla Grace Glynn of Taunton.  He is the brother of Anita Taylor and her husband Ken of Taunton and is the brother in law of Anne Marie Lopes of Berkley, Barbara Devlin and her husband Paul of East Taunton, Leo Cardin and his wife Linda of South Paris, ME, William Cardin and his wife Deborah of East Taunton, Peter Cardin and Edward Cardin both of Taunton.  He is the uncle of several and a very special  friend of Albert “Ty” Courcy of Taunton and Ed Paige of North Dighton. Ralph F. Burgoyne, 71, of 122 Rigby Road, died Friday, November 28, 2008 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Margaret A. (Caiazzi) Burgoyne, three sons: Ralph A. Burgoyne of Lancaster, Robert J. Burgoyne of Colorado Springs, CO, and Richard M. Burgoyne of Bolton; two daughters: Angela M. Sweatland of Summerfield, NC, and Patricia A. Schumacher of Lancaster; a brother, Thomas Burgoyne of VT; two sisters: Marion Kulis of Clinton and Helen Pluta of West Brookfield; eleven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Ralph was born in Clinton, the son of Ralph E. and Helen (Lizak) Burgoyne and attended local schools. He was a 1955 graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School. A general contractor, Ralph owned and operated the Ralph F. Burgoyne Construction Co. for over forty years, retiring in 2003. Previously, he worked for five years as a draftsman for Morgan Construction Co., Worcester. He served as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard for several years. In January of 1987, Ralph joined his son Robert, a Sonar Technician stationed aboard the U.S.S. Philadelphia, a fast attack nuclear submarine, on a four-day excursion of sea trials from Portsmouth, NH to Groton, CT. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Clinton, and a Charter member and past President of the Lancaster Lions Club. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed annual fishing trips to the Outer Banks, NC. Francis J. Callery Beloved Uncle, Veteran LOWELL Francis J. Callery, 83, a lifelong Lowell resident, died on November 27, 2008, after a brief illness. He was born in Lowell, on August 6, 1925, a son of the late James J. and Catherine (Morris) Callery. He was predeceased by his brothers, James J. Callery, Jr., and John J. Callery. Mr. Callery attended Lowell Schools, and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1943. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He was a retiree of New England Telephone/Nynex. Mr. Callery was well known in the Centralville section where he lived for 75 years. He currently resided at Father Norton Manor in Lowell. He was affectionately called "Da" by two generations of his family. He was a sports fan who followed all pro, college and local sports. He enjoyed the company of his family, and many friends. He also enjoyed a good meal, a cigar, and a bottle of Bud Light. Mr. Callery will be remembered as a kind, generous man by all who were fortunate to know him. He is survived by his niece and her partner, Sharon Callery and Ray Costello; his nephews, Michael Callery and his wife, Mary, Patrick Callery and his wife, Karen, Kevin Callery and James Callery; his sister-in-law, Alice Callery. HOPKINTON Paul D. Cyr, 67, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Irene (Fitzpatrick) Cyr, to whom he was married for 31 years. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Donat and Edith (Allred) Cyr. A 1959 graduate of Wellesley High School, Paul was a U.S. Naval veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam with the Seabees. He was a longtime employee of the Hopkinton DPW, retiring in March 2007. In addition to his wife, he leaves his sons David and his wife, Christina, of Palo Alto, Calif., and Gregory and his fiancee, Sarah Sennott, of Bend, Ore. He also leaves his brothers, Richard of Barbados and Philip of Northbridge; his sister, Paulette Cyr of Maine; and his mother-in-law, Katherine Fitzpatrick of Hopkinton. WEYMOUTH Gerald C. DiBona, a lifelong Weymouth resident, died on Thursday, November 29, 2008, at the Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth. He was 66 years of age. A graduate of Weymouth High School, Mr. DiBona served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a strong supporter of Vietnam Veterans. He had worked in the warehouse at Boston Scientific, as a machinist for Beckwith (Otis) Elevator and in earlier years at General Dynamics. He was an avid Boston sportsfan. Robert F. Dunham PLYMOUTH Robert F. Dunham, passed away at home, Nov. 26, 2008, with his daughter Judy and son Steven by his bedside, in Plymouth, at the age of 91. Born in Plymouth, Aug. 1, 1917, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Alma (Larkin) Dunham. Predeceased by his wife, Lois Holmes Dunham, they were married for 69 years. Robert was a graduate of Plymouth High School and started work as a baker, working for his father in his Plymouth Bakery on Market Street. He drove a bus for P&Bfor 15 years and then returned to baking at his own bakery, Plymouth Baking Co., for another 10 years, until Urban Renewal took it. He managed the A&WRoot Beer stand for two years and then was a supervisor at Arnold Trailer for eight years. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he worked for Dunkin Donuts in Kingston for six years. He is survived by his son, Richard and wife Loretta of Flagler Beach, Fla.; his daughter, Judith Fortinin and her husband Norman of Plymouth; and his son, Steven and his wife Maureen of Plymouth. He had five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, who he loved very much. He was the brother of the late Esther Mercer, Mabel Boutin and Ernest Dunham. Dr. Helen Elizabeth (Oickle) Ellis, 81, of Bernardston, and South Yarmouth, MA, died Thursday (11-27-2008) at home. She was a retired Professor/Academic Administrator at Greenfield Community College. She was the widow of the late Dr. Frederick E. Ellis, who died in October of 2000. She was born in Brighton, MA on December 16, 1926, the daughter of Lawrence E. and Minerva (Dunham) Oickle. She lived most of her life in Western Massachusetts. She was a 1945 graduate of Greenfield High School and 1946 graduate of Northampton Commercial College. She received her B.A. cum laude with honors in English from the University of Massachusetts in 1963; a Master of Arts in Teaching from Smith College in 1964, and PhD in English from the University of Massachusetts in 1973. Following one year of teaching English at Mahar Regional School, she joined the faculty of Greenfield Community College in 1965. She moved through the ranks to full Professor over the next 25 years and served as Chair of the Division of Humanities for nine years. She was one of the originators of the Pioneer Valley Studies Program, which preceded the Pioneer Valley Institute, the Developmental Studies Program, and the Women's Studies Program. An American Literature scholar, she was instrumental in the founding of the Archibald MacLeish collection at GCC and the subsequent formation of the Friends of the MacLeish Collection, for which she served on the Executive Committee until her death. She co-chaired the national MacLeish Symposium in 1982 and presented numerous papers, readings, and lectures on the poet as well as authoring articles and books about him and his work. As co-author and editor, she published three books related to MacLeish, including the only bibliography of his works and the autobiographical interviews done with poet and titled Reflections. She also co-edited two college English textbooks and published a number of short stories, poems, and essays in such periodicals as The Mark Twain Journal, North Essex Review, and Yankee. She has been an active member of the First Congregational Church in Greenfield, MA and was an associate member of the West Yarmouth Cong. Church. She is survived by two sons: Rev. Dr. Gordon and his wife Diane of Keene, N.H. and Mark and his wife Sonja of Gardner, MA; a foster daughter: Sandra Jardine and her husband Cesar of Monson, MA; a brother: Alvin Oickle of Daytona, FL and a sister, Valerie Bonzek and her husband Donald of Ludlow, MA; three grandchildren: Ryan and his wife Ana of Miami, FL, Jason and his wife Carrie of Gardner, MA and Lyndsey of Washington, D.C; three foster grandchildren: Richard, Tasondra, and Michael Jardine; two step-grandchildren: Mandy Meaney and her husband Tom, and Michael Richards; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. BRAINTREE Conrad Stanley Fenick, 75 years of age, passed away at the Milton Hospital on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, following a brief illness. He was born at Meriden, Connecticut and was raised in Wallingford, CT, where he graduated from Lyman Hall high school. He subsequently received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering. He later received a Master's Degree in Education from Northeastern University, Boston. He served in Korea with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. For a number of years he taught at the Norwood High School instructing students in drafting and mechanical drawing. He then worked as a Mechanical Engineer from 1980 until his retirement in 1992. He was employed by the Carleton Manufacturing Company at Central Falls, RI, from 1980 to 1985. From 1985 to 1992 he was employed by the Textron Defense System at Wilmington, MA. Conrad was a communicant of the Church of Saint Thomas More in Braintree. He served as a Braintree Town Meeting member for ten years before the change in the form of government. He enjoyed doing research and spending time reading at The Thayer Public Library in Braintree. Conrad is survived by his loving wife Dorothy H. (Lawlor) Fenick. They resided in Braintree for forty years and formerly lived in Quincy. He is the devoted father of Deirdre A. Fenick of South Boston and Elizabeth Ann Fenick and her close friend Anthony Santapaola of Medford. He is the brother of Carol Mihaler of Wallingford, CT, and the late Michael Fenick. John T. Finney Jr., 77, of Leominster died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in Leominster. He was born January 29, 1931 in Ware, MA son of John T. and Ethel M. (Streeter) Finney Sr. Mr. Finney was an Industrial Engineer for Servicemaster Industries. He was an Eagle Scout, and also a graduate of Boston University, a Master Mason at Charles W. Moore Lodge. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1954 attaining the rank of Corporal. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann I. (Ramsay) Finney of Leominster; a daughter, Ursula Finney of Virginia; a brother, Thomas Finney of Florida; a sister, Florence Stearns of Worcester; and a granddaughter, Kathy French. Joseph enjoyed deer hunting, golf, playing cards, making wine and clamming. An avid Red Sox fan, he also enjoyed football. Joseph will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Robert S. Jack HANSON Robert S. (Bobby) Jack of Hanson MA passed away November 27, 2008 at home surrounded by his beloved family. He was 82 years old. Born and raised in Scotland, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1951 and lived in Quincy for 50 years before moving to Hanson. Loving husband to Jean M. (Belliveau) for 55 years, father of Rev. Robert M. Jack and his wife Carol of Charlotte NC, Lorene E. Jack of Brockton, Sandra J. Shaw and her husband Eugene of Hanson. Grandfather of Lindsay Salter and Allison Beach of Charlotte NC, Fiona and Kelsie Shaw of Hanson MA and great-grandfather to Renee, Tyler and Adrienne. He is survived by his sister Marion Montgomery of Boness, Scotland. He was predeceased by his brother James Jack of Grangemouth, Scotland earlier this year. Born in Stirling, Scotland and raised in Grangemouth, he joined the 12th Royal Lancers of the British Army during WWII and after the war was part of the peace-keeping forces in Israel. In 1949 he immigrated to the Canadian Arctic to work for the Hudson Bay Fur Trading Co. After his stint in Canada, he was persuaded by relatives living in Dorchester MA to move to the U.S. After marrying Jean and settling in Quincy, he joined the Scots Charitable Society of Boston , acting as its President from 1980 to 1981. He was very active in the scholarship and entertainment committees providing college scholarships to young adults of Scottish decent. He was also President from 2001 to 2003 of the Kilwinning Club of Boston, a formal Degree Team of the Grand Lodge of Free Masons. He was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church, Quincy and its choir. He retired from British Airways at Logan Airport, Boston in 1987 after 30 years of service. After retirement, he was the singing half of The Caledonians, a musical duo who performed traditional Scottish and popular tunes at numerous senior centers and cultural events for close to 15 years. One of his greatest passions in life, besides his family, was soccer football. As a young man, he played socially with multi-national teams in the Boston area. During the years from 1969-1971, he was head coach of the mens varsity soccer team at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, leading the team to their first winning season in school history. He later briefly coached Quincy High School varsity. During these years, he was a member of EMSOA (Eastern Mass Soccer Official Assoc) and officiated school-aged soccer games, receiving an honorary award for length of service. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 1 at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, 270 Franklin St., Quincy MA 02169. Harry Lambert of Dracut, UMass Lowell retiree; 78 DRACUT Harry Lambert, 78, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at his Dracut home, following a long illness. He was the husband of Janice (Willard) Lambert with whom he would have been celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on December 27, 2008. Born in Dracut, on August 16, 1930, he was a son of the late Edgar and Gabrielle (Ladebauche) Lambert. He was educated in Lowell Schools. He was a Dracut resident for over 50 years residing in the Elsmere Area. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing throughout New Hampshire. He worked as a brick mason for 18 years, then worked at UMASS LOWELL, as a janitor. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Pauline Zolkos of Orange City, FL, Rita Gouveia of Salem, NH, and Peggy Gouveia and her husband, Thomas of Lady Lakes, FL; three grandchildren, Jennifer Daigle and her husband, Donald of Litchfield, NH, Brian Lambert of Nashua, NH, and Ashley Lambert of Dracut; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.       Mrs. Mary L. (Barros) Goulart, of this city died Thursday, November 20 at her resi- dence surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the wife of Antonio P. Goulart.  She was born 67 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late William and Geneva (Silveira) Brodie.  She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident.  Prior to her illness, she had been employed as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Marion Manor for 5 years.  She had previously been em- ployed at Longmeadow of Taunton and at the Paul A. Dever State School for a num- ber of years.  Mrs. Goulart also taught english to portuguese speaking students at the Martin Middle School in East Taunton.  She enjoyed playing piano, crosstitching, baking and spending time with her family.  She was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church. Dennis M. Maynard, 49, passed away peacefully November 26, 2008 at home with his family from complications following a recent illness. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Susan M. (Paquin); his daughter, Jess of Sutton; his two sisters, Susan M. Maynard of Norfolk, Judith Cloutier and her husband David of Southbridge; his four brothers, Eli Maynard Jr. of Wrentham, Stephen Maynard of Sutton, Michael W. Maynard and his wife Helen of Whitinsville, Jeffrey S. Maynard of Sutton; five nieces, Amy Morabito, Stephanie Maynard, Melissa Vallee, Michelle Maynard, Abbigail Paquin; one nephew, Richard Paquin; three great nieces, Ricki Maynard, Hailey and Gina Morabito; aunts, an uncle, many cousins including Tiffany Maynard. Dennis was born April 26, 1959 in Whitinsville the son of the late Eli W.F. Maynard and Theresa C. (Castonguay), raised in Sutton and graduated from Sutton High School in 1978. He also attended Blackstone Valley Vocational Technical High School earning certification for his trade. Dennis worked as lead grinder at Wyman Gordon Co. in North Grafton for 30 years and was still employed at the time of his passing. He previously worked as an auto body technician at Millbury Motors and did that work for many friends during his lifetime. He was a member of The United Steelworkers of America Local # 2285 and a Sutton firefighter assigned to Co. 3 in Wilkinsonville. Thomas E. McArdle, Sr. SCITUATE Thomas E. McArdle, Sr., age 75, of Scituate, passed away on November 25, 2008 after a brief illness. Thomas was the beloved husband and best friend for 50 years of Muriel E. (Shea) and devoted father of Patricia E. Burke and her husband, John, Jean Marie Beane and her husband, Robert, all of Hingham, and Thomas E. Jr., and his wife, Susan of Braintree. Mr. McArdle was the brother of Kathleen J. McArdle of Scituate and John B. McArdle of Falmouth and the late Marie Harrigan and Joanne Lennon. He was the proud grandfather of Kelly Ann Beane, Robert Christopher Beane, Matthew John Burke, Andrew McArdle Burke, Thomas Eugene McArdle, III, Nolan John McArdle, Cameron Michael McArdle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. MUISE, Elaine Paradise of Westwood, passed away at the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham on November 24, 2008, at age 74. Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of Anna (Larkin) and Alphonse J. Paradise and is the mother of Joseph J. Muise of Foxboro, Mary Alice Muise of Bridgewater and Anne Marie LaSalvia of Holbrook and grandmother of 7. She was the sister of the late Ann Danforth and Richard R. Paradise. Music Director and organist for St. Clare's Parish in Braintree, Elaine, as a Thayer Academy student, performed a piano solo at Symphony Hall and was a member of a 50-piano orchestra, conducted by Arthur Fiedler. She received her BA from Radcliffe College, where she sang with the Choral Society, and her MA in Teaching from Harvard, both with concentration in music. Further graduate study was pursued at Boston State College and Bridgewater State College in education; at BU in organ performance; at St. Michael's College in VT, in Gregorian Chant; and at the Choate organ/harpsichord seminars. Formerly a Weymouth school teacher and a piano instructor for the Boston Boys Choir, Elaine held 2 certificates from the Boston Archdiocesan Commission and was a member of the American Guild of Organists, a Secular Franciscan, a former prefect of St. Clare's Sodality, a member of the Radcliffe Alumnae Assoc. and a former officer and director of the Emma Forbes Cary Guild. Michael Francis O'Hare formerly of Tyngsboro; 64 MILFORD, NH Mr. Michael Francis O'Hare, 64, a 7-year resident of Milford, NH, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008, surrounded by his family at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH. He was married to Mrs. Sandra (Wesson) O'Hare with whom he had celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on October 9, 2008. Born in Lowell, MA on July 27, 1944, the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Pease) O'Hare. Mr. O'Hare was raised in Tyngsboro, MA where he resided for many years. He attended Tyngsboro and Lowell public schools. Mr. O'Hare was a Construction Supervisor for HJ Stabile and Son of Nashua, NH, and later for R.L. Jeanotte of Shirley, MA until his early retirement in 1994 due to illness. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford, MA. Michael was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed collecting antique cars. He coached Little League Baseball in Westford and Tyngsboro, MA. Besides his loving wife, Sandra, he is survived by a daughter, Maureen O'Hare of Milford, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Darlene (Manning) O'Hare, Jr. of Tyngsboro; two cherished grandchildren, Shaun O'Hare and Kylie O'Hare, both of Tyngsboro, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patricia and John Werda of Pine City, NY, Joanne O'Hare of Murriett, CA, Maureen and Thomas Bennett of Dover, NH; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. QUINCY Catherine M. "Cathy" O'Rourke of Quincy, formerly of Braintree, November 27, 2008. Cathy was born in Quincy and died at Boston Medical Center on Thursday at the age of 46. Cathy grew up in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School and then Newbury College in Boston. Cathy worked as a receptionist at the Boston V.A. Hospital outpatient clinic for the past year. Cathy also worked part time as a professional barber at her fathers shop in Braintree. She also worked as a receptionist for Northeastern University for 15 years. Cathy was active in her parish of St. Anns Church in Quincy for many years as a member of the choir and as a Eucharistic Minister bringing the Eucharist to the sick at area Boston hospitals. In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed walks along the beach and helping others. She is the beloved daughter of John A. and Margaret M. Peg (Dalzell) ORourke of Braintree. Devoted sister of James F. MIDDLEBORO Gertrude E. (Davis) ONeill, 90, died at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, in Brockton, Tuesday, Nov. 25. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. ONeill. Daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary J. (McNicholas) Davis, she was born and educated in Boston. She resided in Stoughton for 45 years before living in Middleboro for the past three years. Mrs. ONeill was a housewife, an avid bingo player and was a member of the AMVETS in Roxbury. Mrs. ONeill is survived by her children, Joseph T. ONeill Jr. of Portsmouth, N.H., Francis G. ONeill and Trudy E. ONeill, both of Middleboro, Richard J. ONeill of Attleboro and Kathleen M. Marinelli of Stoughton; as well as her brother, Francis Davis of Nevada. A daughter of the late Francis M. and the late M. Loretta (Reardon) Donnelly, she was born February 15, 1936, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools. She made her lifelong home in Lowell, and was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church. She was an avid Bingo player, but mostly enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had worked for Wah Sang Restaurant for 25 years and will be fondly remembered by many of their customers. She is survived by five children, Patricia A. (Bourget) Hebert of Worcester, Jack R. Lisa A. (Burns) Parke, 44, passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 26th in St. Vincent Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Lisa is survived by her beloved husband of twenty one years, John M. Parke; her two children, Cameron B. and Delaney B. Parke all of Worcester; her parents, Henry and Cecilia B. Lisa was born in Worcester and grew up in West Boylston. She graduated from West Boylston High School, attended Quinsigamond Community College and lived most of her life in Worcester. Lisa worked as a teacher's aide for the Pre Kindergarten Class many years at St. Stephen's School. She loved working with young children. Joseph V. Pempek, 74, passed into the arms of his Lord surrounded by his loving family on Thanksgiving Day. He had battled a rare neurodegenerative disease for several years. He was born in Putnam on July 2, 1934 to Louise (Lysiak) and Vincent Pempek. He was predeceased by a brother, Adolph. Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louise (Cutler) Pempek; a son, J. Scott and wife Cheryl, and two granddaughters: Kristen and Rebecca. Educated at St. Mary's Elementary School, Joe was graduated from Putnam High in 1952. In 1956, he received his BA from University of Connecticut with majors in political science and history; his MA in Education from Eastern Connecticut State University: and his Sixth Year degree in 1967 in Education Administration. Joe served in the U.S. Army in France from 1956 to 1959. After teaching in grades 6-8 at the Griswold Elementary for five years, Joe was appointed Principal in 1968. In 1978, he was appointed as Principal at Moosup Elementary School in Plainfield from which he retired in 1994. Upon retirement from his first love, the educational field, Joe pursued another life-long interest, and became a stock broker (registered representative) and worked in the equities field until 2007. Serving his community was Joe's trademark. He served on the Democratic Town Committee and served 9 years on the Putnam Board of Tax Review, Board of Education for 28 years, 24 of which as its chairman. He was the primary mover for the Putnam Elementary School and later the Family Resource Center. Joe served on the Putnam Bi-centennial Committee in 1976 and on the Putnam Sesquicentennial Committee in 2005. He was a charter member of the Aspinock Historical Society. Member of and past president of the Putnam High School Alumni Association, life member of Connecticut Education Association, a 40 year life member of the Putnam Lodge of Elks, a member of Putnam Rotary Club since 2000, a member of the Connecticut Retired Teachers Association, Phi Delta Kappa (national education honorary fraternity), alumni member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Myrtle R. Perrico BELLINGHAM Myrtle R. (Berg) Perrico, 81, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2008, at the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge, with family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Victor R. Perrico. S he was born in Boston, Nov. 18, 1927, the daughter of the late Frederick and Helena (Glysberg) Berg. She was the loving mother of David D. Perrico and his wife, Margaret Holden, of Sedona, Ariz., and Brian V. Perrico of Bellingham, and leaves her beloved dog, Cocoa. She also leaves her nieces, Sylvia Hogarth of Daytona, Fla., and Sandra Neely of Bellingham; her nephews, Gordon Harvey of Broussard, La., and Roger Harvey of Hopedale. She was also the sister of the late Helen Harvey and aunt of the late Patricia Bianchi. A resident of Bellingham for 55 years, and formerly of Mendon and Woonsocket, R.I., Mrs. Perrico worked in the cafeteria for Bellingham Schools for 25 years, until retiring in 1994. In the 1970s, Mrs. Perrico, together with her friend, Alice Jette, owned and operated The Needle and Thread Shop in Bellingham. She was on the Board of Bellingham Elder Services and active in the Bellingham Senior Center. She was a communicant of St. Blaise Church and enjoyed working the church bazaars, knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting, bingo, traveling and trips to the casinos. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1954; he played on the varsity basketball team. He later earned an Associates Degree in Business from Worcester Junior College. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Quigley was first a salesman for New England Provisions in Boston and then for Deary Brothers in Dudley. He then worked for Gibson Dairy in Worcester, retiring as a sales manager in 1997. In his retirement, he worked as a janitor and grounds keeper at Saint Louis Church. He was a communicant and active member of Saint Louis Parish. He enjoyed basketball, gardening and amateur painting. He was a family man; he was proud of his four children, and had a special love for his ten grandchildren. Rudolph C. Ritari of Lunenburg, Army vet, WWII; 87 LUNENBURG Rudolph C. Ritari, 87, of Lunenburg, died Thursday, Nov. 27, in the Quabbin Valley Rehabilitation Center, Athol, MA, after a long illness. His wife of 54 years, Christina H. (Peterson) Ritari, died in 2001. He leaves one son, Paul R. Ritari of Fitchburg; one daughter, Christina H. Moeckel of Lunenburg; and two grandchildren, Amanda Moeckel of San Francisco, CA, and Matthew Moeckel of Fall River, MA. Mr. Ritari was employed at Simonds Saw & Steel in Fitchburg for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. He attended Fitchburg High School, and was a member of the Pilgrim Covenant Church in Lunenburg. He was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army, serving as a Private First Class in the 397th Infantry Regiment in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. He was decorated with a Bronze Star Medal and the Distinguished Unit Badge. He was born in Ashburnham, MA, on October 12, 1921, a son of the late Paul and Hilda (Maki) Ritari, and lived in Lunenburg since 1948. Robert J. Medas, of Clifton Street, Attleboro, died on Saturday hours following his 87th birthday. Husband of the late Mildred Esther (Hagar) Medas. Born in Taunton on November 21, 1921, he was a son of the late Manuel and Rose (DeMoura) Medas.  He was raised and educated in Taunton where he was a member of the class of 1940. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. From 1951 – 1959 he served as the foreman of the former Plastic Coated Products Company in Attleboro. Mr. Medas began his employment with the former ANOX Corporation before it became the Hillsinger Corporation that was also doing business as the Evans Case Company, in Plainville.  He was a manufacturing foreman for the firm for almost 30 years prior to his retirement in 1988.  He was a longtime member of the Ezekiel Bates Lodge of Masons A.F. & A.M. in Attleboro; served as chairman of the Advisory Council for the Order of DeMolay; the Nava Grotto – M.O.V.P.E.R. in Attleboro; the Balfour Coin and Stamp Club in Attleboro and the Attleboro Power Squadron. Mr. Medas was an active member of Murray Unitarian Universalist Church in Attleboro where he served on a number of committees and as the church treasurer. He leaves a daughter: Donna J. Medas Patton and her husband, Max J. Born in Lowell on April 3, 1930, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Anna (Silva) Roderique. During the Korean Conflict, Mr. Roderick served in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, Robert was employed at the Raytheon Corporation, as a Logistics Engineer. Teresa B. "Terry" (Kaminski) Scaglione, 88, of 127 Alvarado Ave., passed away peacefully in her home, Wednesday, November 26th 2008, surrounded by her family, after a prolonged illness. Terry is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, and the light of her life, William J. Scaglione; a daughter, Joan T. Lehotay and her husband Denis of Saskatchewan, Canada; five grandchildren, Christine M. Scaglione of Lowell, James T. Scaglione and his wife Jennifer, and Michael J. Scaglione all of Worcester, Anthony F. and Dominic J. Scaglione both of Warren, VT; many nieces, nephews and friends. Her son, William "Buddy" Scaglione passed away in 2004; two brothers, John and Joseph Kaminski, and four sisters, Irene Phelan, Jennie Maciak, Lillian Collier, and Catherine Menard all pre deceased her. Born in Worcester, Teresa was a daughter of the late Jozef and Anna (Bogumil) Kaminski, immigrants from the province of Lomza, Poland, and has lived here all her life. A graduate of Commerce High School and the Worcester School of Business Science, Terry was a much loved and dedicated employee for nearly 50 years at Parker Manufacturing. She began her career there as an Assembler and later served as Timekeeper, Payroll and Shipping Clerk, Estimator, and as interim Private Secretary to the Vice President. She was even offered the position of Personnel Manager, but politely declined so she could enjoy more time with her children during their summer vacations from school. Terry was a member of St. Anne's Parish, Shrewsbury and a long time active parishioner of the former St. Margaret Mary's, Worcester. A woman of deep faith, love and kindness, she will be remembered most of all as a sweet wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and neighbor. Terry was a joy to all who came in contact with her and delighted in spending time with family and friends. Her warm smile, sparkling blue eyes and laughter will be a source of comfort to all who remember her. The funeral will be held Monday, December 1st from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Josephine A. Simione MILFORD Josephine A. Simione, 96, of Milford, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was born in Casalvecchio, Italy, daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria (Vignone) Simione, and moved to Milford in 1920. She was educated in the Milford schools. She was employed for many years at the former Derman Shoe Co. in Milford, where she was employed as stitcher. Mrs. Simione was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She is survived by her devoted sister, Constance Viscone of Milford; one niece, Janice and her husband, Ted Brothers, of Milford; one nephew, Philip and his wife, Regina Viscone, of Milford. Eugene H. Souza lived in the Leominster area, Army vet; 60 HAVERHILL Eugene H. Souza, 60, of Haverhill, MA, and formerly of Leominster and Fitchburg area, died Friday, November 21, 2008, in Merrimack Hospital in Haverhill, MA. He was born on August 11, 1948, in Bangor, Maine, was the son of Henry and Mertis (Patterson) Souza. Mr. Souza was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, having earned the National Defense Service Medal and attained the rank of Specialist. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Souza is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cornine S. SWEENEY, Mary Elizabeth RSCJ Former Provincial Superior of the Society of the Sacred Heart, died November 26, 2008 at Teresian House, Albany, NY. She was a member of the Society of the Sacred Heart for 72 years. Born in Rochester, New York, Sister Sweeney was a graduate of Newton College of the Sacred Heart. Sister Sweeney was noted for her financial acumen. She served the Society in financial management and investment throughout her life. She was Treasurer of Newton College of the Sacred Heart and of the United States Province of the Society of the Sacred Heart. She served on the investment committee of the New England Jesuits. She was President of the Newton Country Day School Corporation and a Trustee of Stuart Country Day School in Princeton, New Jersey and Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart. Sister Sweeney lived in retirement at Kenwood Convent of the Sacred Heart, Albany, NY. Sister Sweeney is survived by her sisters Mrs. Anne Sweeney Johantgen of Brockport, New York, and Miss Jean B. Christopher Meader Williams, 52, a man of taste, good humor, and intellect. Mr. Williams, who was a longtime resident of Leominster and Hyannis Port, MA, died suddenly Nov. 22, 2008 in Falmouth, MA. He was born and raised in Leominster and summered in Hyannis Port, son of the late Barbara Swain Meader Williams and the late Silvio Williams, owner and operator of Fitchburg's first Howdy Beef Burger Restaurant, Whalom Park and Drive-In-Theater. Mr. Williams attended Applewild School in Fitchburg, and graduated from Middlesex School in Concord, where he was a triple-letter varsity athlete and went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was a lifetime entrepreneur. Mr. Williams was known for his quick wit, keen intellect, and generous spirit. He was as comfortable dining at the local pub as he was dining at the Ritz Carlton in Boston. He was known for his strength of character and kindness of heart. A longtime dog lover, until recently he was inseparable from his dog, the late "Murphy". He loved to cook and was a connoisseur of fine wine. He was an avid sports fan. No game was too big or too small for him to attend. Mr. Williams is survived by his sister, Kathryn S. Williams and her husband Brant Hardy; his sister, Elizabeth W. Sullivan and her husband Gregory J.; he was the proud uncle of James, Sam, Charlie, and Julia Hardy and Caroline and Macy Sullivan. FRANKLIN Georgia (Litsas) Zarkadas, 94, of Franklin died suddenly Nov. 26, 2008, in Milford Regional Medical Center. Born in Lowell, Feb.14, 1914, the daughter of the late Cristos and Anna (Trapanja) Litsas, Mrs. Zarkadas lived in Franklin for the past 50 years. A homemaker, she had been a volunteer for the Franklin FISH program, and a volunteer at Stony Brook Nature Center in Norfolk. Mrs. Zarkadas was a member of St.Mary's Church Catholic Women's Club. She is survived by her sons, Charles Zarkadas and his wife, Maryellen, of Boston, Peter Zarkadas and his partner, Sarah Levecque, of Framingham; and daughter, Joanne Zarkadas and her partner, Virginia Sands, of Framingham. She is also survived by her sister, Bessie Mortgu of New Jersey; and brother, Tim Adams of New Hampshire. She was the sister of the late Helen Trinfallow, Paul Lee, Sophie League and Philip Litsas.
