Angelina (Medeiros) Alves of Williams Street, Dighton died Saturday September 1, 2007 at Brigham & Womens Hospital Boston. She was the wife of Arthur I. Alves of Dighton. She was 76.
She was born in Fall River, MA and was the daughter of the late Hortencio & Maria (Rezendes) Medeiros. She was educated in Fall River.
Mrs. Alves worked as a sales lady for Apex in Swansea for 10 years and other retail stores. She retired at the age of 60. She was a communicant of St. Peters Church Dighton. In her spare time she loved to dance and travel.
In addition to her husband Arthur, She is survived by 3 sons; Arthur T. Alves of Dighton, Stephen A. Alves of New Bedford, Michael A. Alves of West Roxbury, 1 daughter; Kathleen A. Alves of Sebastopol, CA. and 1 sister Mary Gagnon of Fall River. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced. Calling Hours will be Tuesday Sept. 4th, from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Angelina Alves Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 15, Sebastopol, CA 95473.
Jeannette DuPont

Jeannette DuPont, age 97, of Fall River, passed away Friday August 31, 2007. She was the wife of the late Ludger DuPont and also the late Roland Daignault. She was the daughter of Onesime Masson and Mathilde (Chartier) Masson.
She is survived by one stepson, Lionel DuPont, of Fall River; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Roland Daignault and the grandmother of the late Michael Daignault.
Mrs. DuPont’s funeral will be held on Tuesday September 4, 2007 at 8:15 AM from the BOULE FUNERAL HOME, 615 Broadway, Fall River, MA. Followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 in Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River, MA. Interment will be in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Evelyn Lewis
Evelyn (Paulo) Lewis, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Antonio Paulo and widow of the late William Lewis, died on the evening of August 31, 2007 at Charlton Memorial Hospital from Ovarian Cancer at the age of 82. Evelyn emigrated to New Bedford from the island of Terceira in 1942 at the age of 17.
Evelyn is survived by her only daughter Gwendolyn Lemieux also of New Bedford. Evelyn was a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren David McGrath, Michelle Dearden, Aja McGrath, and Lori Dearden Cote. She is also survived by her four great grandchildren Michael Montigny, Kurtis McGrath, Robert Cote, and Evalina Irene DeSousa.
Evelyn worked at the Hathaway Mills for over 20 years and also at States Nightware for 10 years. She spent the remainder of her life working at the Schwartz Center and Coastline Elderly until she retired in 2002 at the age of 77. At which time she dedicated her life to taking care of her loving cats Pebbles, Bootsie, and the late Dinky.
Evelyn will always be remembered for her warm smile, loving embrace and many words of wisdom.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME of MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BROOKLAWN, 15 Irvington Court, New Bedford. Ernest A. Paul
Ernest A. Paul, 64, of Globe St., Fall River, son of the late Norman Paul and Florence "Flo" (Paradis) Paul-Paulino, died Friday, August 31, 2007.
A member of the Italian Progressive Club, he was employed by People, Inc.
He leaves his companion Pamela Boulanger; children, Bonnieann Paul, Ernest Paul and Tina Sinclair and her husband Shawn, all of Fall River and Maryann Paul of Tiverton; brothers, Norman "Pete" Paul and Thomas Worsley, both of Fall River and Donald Paul of FL; a sister, Rosemary Paradis of Philadelphia; grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews.

Roger N. Porter
Roger N. Porter, "Rog," age 78 of Barrington, passed away, Friday August 31, 2007 in the Providence V.A. Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Lavin) Porter to whom he had been married for the past 16 years. He was also the beloved husband of the late Faye R. (Carrick) Porter.
Born in Dighton, he was a son of the late Edward L. and Maria C. (Gagne) Porter. He spent his youth in Taunton and lived on Prairie Avenue in Swansea for 35 years before moving to Barrington in 1986.
Mr. Porter was a 1947 graduate of Taunton High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served between World War II and the Korean War. He was a Commercial Fisherman and a Mill Wright at Texas Instrument in Attleboro for 20 years.
He was a third degree Mason belonging to the King David Lodge in Taunton. He loved the ocean and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He was a devoted father to seven children Norman J. Porter and his wife Deborah L. of Plymouth, Richard N. Porter and his wife Linda of Swansea, Eileen F. Allison of Pawtucket, RI, Amy M. Scanlon and her husband Raymond K. JR. of Swansea, Kelly L. Travis-Vieira and her husband John Jr. of Riverside, RI, Kristine L. Travis and Kimberly A. Ascenio both of East Providence, RI. He is survived by 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Bernice Rose, Fred Morgan, and Roy and George Porter.
His Funeral will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHREST 189 Gardner’s Neck Rd. Swansea followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00AM in Christ Episcopal Church 57 Main St. Swansea. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7PM.
