EASTHAMPTON - Joseph Acus Jr. 89, of Main Street, died Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.

NORTHAMPTON - Nellie (Kowal) Ahearn, 96, a longtime resident of Leeds, died peacefully Saturday night at the Linda Manor Nursing Home in Leeds.

BELCHERTOWN - Françoise Guite Bourbonnais was born in Maria, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Ernest J. and Bernadette Guite. She attended convent schools in Gaspe, Quebec, Canada.

AMHERST - Jessica J. Gladu, 27, departed this life on Sept. 1 at her home.

William Reardon
WHATELY - William F. Reardon, 73, of 188 Chestnut Plain Road, Whately, died Sept. 1, 2007 at home after a period of failing health. He was born in Northampton on Oct. 10, 1933 the son of William and Dolores (Arel) Reardon. Bill was educated in Northampton schools and graduated from Northampton High School in the class of 1952.

Rabbi Judah Nadich; advised Eisenhower on Jewish affairs
NEW YORK (AP) - Rabbi Judah Nadich, a military chaplain who advised Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower on Jewish affairs after the discovery of Nazi concentration camps in the last months of World War II, has died at age 95.
