Loraine M. Bouthiette

UPTON - Loraine M. (Houde) Bouthiette, 83, of Upton, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at her home after a long illness.

She was the wife of Omer A. Bouthiette, to whom she was married for 61 years.

Born in North Grafton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary Ellen (Atchue) Houde. She grew up in Grafton, where she was educated in local schools, and had lived in Upton since 1946.

She was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish in Upton and was a 25-year member of the Sutton Country Squares.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Dianne M. Valis of Webster and Hope Ann Lapierre of Upton; a brother, Robert Houde of Grafton; one sister, Rita Guisto of Worcester; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also the sister of the late Ann Mae Bourget and Joseph A. Houde.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home (uptonfunerals.com), 45 Main St., Upton.

William F. Murphy

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - William F. Murphy, 76, of Kissimmee, Fla., Cumberland, R.I., and Milford, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Osceola Regional Hospital after an illness.

He was the husband of Marian L. (Stewart) Murphy, for 55 years.

Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Francis and the late Beatrice (Evers) Murphy. He attended the former St. Mary's Grammar School as a young boy and was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School, Class of 1948.

He was first employed at the Milford Daily News as a typesetter, where he worked for about five years. He later became employed for 27 years at the Providence Journal newspaper where he initially worked as a typesetter and eventually became foreman of the composing room.

Upon his retirement from the Providence Journal he moved to Florida and was employed as a communications director for the city of St. Cloud. He also had been employed as a writer for the Osceola News-Gazette.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.

He had been a resident of Florida from 1981 to 1994, and a resident of Cumberland, R.I., from 1994 until recently returning to Florida. He was an avid newspaper reader, and also enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Donna M. Murphy of Cumberland, R.I.; one son, Michael F. Murphy and his wife, Holly, of Lincoln, R.I.; two granddaughters, Amanda and Emily Murphy of Lincoln, R.I.; one sister, Agnes Roberts of Manchaug; one brother, John Murphy and his wife, Frances, of Mendon; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m., at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford, with burial of his ashes to follow in South Hopedale Cemetery, Plain Street, Hopedale.

A visiting hour will be held Thursday from noon until 1 p.m., prior to the memorial service.

William E. Robbins

UXBRIDGE - William E. Robbins, 59, of Uxbridge, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, after a short illness.

He was the loving husband of Laura A. (Gresian) Robbins, having celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in February 2007.

He was the state building inspector for the Department of Public Safety, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in Boston, for the past 10 years. He had previously been employed as a carpenter for Local 107 in Worcester from 1972 to 1997, was the building inspector for Millville and, in later years, for Uxbridge.

Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he was the son of the late George A. and Ida M. (Ranslow) Robbins, and had been a resident of Millville before moving to Uxbridge 39 years ago. He was a graduate of Blackstone High School and a graduate of the night school/carpentry program at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical School in Upton.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, as a member of the Underwater Demolition Team.

A member and present commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1385 in Uxbridge, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 411 in Millville, the Carpenter's Local 107 in Worcester, and St. John's Episcopal Church in Millville.

Besides his wife, he leaves his children, William E. Robbins II and his wife, Cindy, and Rebecca A. and her husband, Russell Wise III, all of Uxbridge; his grandchildren, William E. Robbins III, Jacob J. Robbins, Samantha M. Wise and Russell S. Wise IV, all of Uxbridge; three brothers, John J. "Butch" Robbins and Neal C. Robbins, both of Millville, Richard D. Robbins of Woonsocket, R.I.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was the brother of the late Joyce C. Libby and George A. Robbins.

A funeral service with full military honors will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 9 a.m., from the Buma Funeral Home, 101 No. Main St. (Rte. 122), Uxbridge, followed by a Requiem Eucharistic Mass at 10 a.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, 49 Central St., Millville.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite Street, Uxbridge.

Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Buma Funeral Home (www.bumafuneralhome.com), 101 No. Main St. (Rte. 122), Uxbridge.

Dennis Dobay

MILFORD - Dennis Dobay, 55, of Milford, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, from injuries received after a fall at his home.

Born in Boston, he was the son of Ricardo Dobay of Oregon, and the late Catherine (Papadopolos) Dobay.

He was a self-employed painter.

Besides his father, he leaves three sisters, Debra Cavaliere of Milford, Cheryl Litterio of Milford, and Carol Alexandro of Whitman.

Funeral services are private and under the direction of the James. E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford.

ELLIOTT

HOPEDALE - The funeral of Robert W. "Bud" Elliott, 83, of Hopedale, was held Saturday, from the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, Milford, followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Hopedale, with the Rev. William Konicki officiating.

Also assisting were Deacon Joseph Manella and Acolyte Frank Rummo.

The funeral pall was placed on his casket by Robert Elliott, Kathryn Elliott, Ryan Elliott and Peter Elliott. The sheaf of wheat and the rosary beads were placed on the casket by Kathleen Elliott.

The lectors were Robert Elliott and Ryan Elliott. Gift bearers were Peter Elliott, Ray Elliott and Elwin Elliott.

The organist was Anthony Orifice. The cantor was Charlotte Grillo-Manna.

Words of remembrance were offered by Steven Elliott.

Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Milford, with prayers offered by the Rev. Konicki and Deacon Manella.

Military services were performed at St. Mary's Cemetery, where the American flag was presented to Mrs. Elliott by Sgt. William Richardson in recognition of her husband's military service.

Mr. Elliott died Aug. 29, 2007, after an illness.
