Marty Beksha


LARGO, Fla. - Marty Beksha, 63, of Largo, Fla., died unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Morton Plant Hospital in Largo, Fla.

Born in Medway, he was the son of the late Michael and Estella (Jason) Beksha. He grew up in Medway, where he was educated in local schools, and lived in Medway for many years.

Mr. Beksha was a volunteer for the Medway Fire Department and employed as a police dispatcher for the Medway Police Department.

He served in the Navy before being honorably discharged.

He loved being an assistant harbor master in Scituate Harbor before living in Florida.

He leaves three sons, Timothy M. Beksha of Bellingham, Thomas J. Beksha of Franklin and Christopher M. Beksha of Seminole, Fla.; one daughter, Lynn M. Beksha of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Paul M. Beksha of Medway and Robert J. Beksha of Medfield; one grandson, Nathan T. Beksha of Franklin.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 4:30 p.m. at Saint Joseph Church, Medway.

 

Barbara A. Bigelow

SOMERS, Conn. - Barbara A. Bigelow (Cain), 73, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at the home of her niece, Julie Arnone, of Somers, Conn.

She was the wife of Evan Bigelow for 25 years. She was married to the late Richard Cain of Uxbridge for 29 years.

She was the daughter of Clarence and Edith Bicknell, and a 1952 graduate of Uxbridge High School.

She was formerly employed by Savers Bank for many years.

Upon her marriage to Evan Bigelow in 1982, they boarded their 36-foot sailboat in Boston and sailed to Miami, and then spent the next three years visiting 63 Caribbean islands along with a four-month stay in Venezuela. After returning to America, they made three RV trips across the country, visiting all the national parks. They enjoyed many adventures, including crewing and flying in the annual balloon festival in Albuquerque, N.M. They had a Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a time and, finally, the last five years, worked fun part-time jobs as greeters at Disney World.

Besides her husband, she leaves a sister, Helen Seagrave of Claremont, Fla.; a brother, Clarence Bicknell of Stirling, Va.; three children, David Cain and his wife, Kelly, of Arizona, Lori Briere of Uxbridge and Kathleen Danforth of Framingham; three stepchildren, David Bigelow of Sharon, Wendy Ostrowski of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Donald Bigelow of Lowell; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

Services will be held at the Slatersville Congregational Church at the Common in Slatersville, R.I., Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m.

 

Normand Desrosiers

BELLINGHAM - Normand E. Desrosiers, 75, of Bellingham, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in Milford Regional Medical Center.

He was the husband of the late Rita Y. (Allard) Desrosiers.

Born in Central Falls, R.I., son of the late Josephat and Marie Ange (Beauregard) Desrosiers, he was a resident of Bellingham for 42 years, formerly of Pawtucket and Central Falls, R.I.

He worked as an assembler at GM in Framingham for 27 years, until the company closed in 1991.

Mr. Desrosiers was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Army, attaining the rank of corporal. He received the Korean Service Medal and one Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Presidential Unit Citation.

He was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Blackstone, and the former Assumption Church, Bellingham. He was an avid Yankees fan and devoted to his family.

He leaves his sons, Paul Desrosiers of Bellingham, Peter Desrosiers of Cumberland, R.I., Scott Desrosiers of Bellingham and Joseph Desrosiers of Cumberland, R.I.; two daughters, Diane Dupre of Greenville, R.I., and Lori Arlequeeuw of Blackstone; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Roger Desrosiers of Bristol, R.I.; and two sisters, Irene Hayes and Constance Bubier of Pawtucket, R.I.

He was also the brother of the late Theresa Bouchard, Simone Bouchard, Madeleine Perron, Gabriel Desrosier and Lionel Desrosiers.

The funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 7, at 9 a.m., from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 South Main St., Rte. 126, Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 in St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone.

Burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, R.I.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.

 

J. Audrey Gianetti

FRANKLIN - J. Audrey (Johnson) Gianetti, 82, of Franklin, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at Caritas Norwood Hospital, following a long illness.

She was the wife of Zeffro V. Gianetti for 49 years.

Born in Franklin, a daughter of the late Cornelius and Nora (Kelly) Johnson, she was a lifelong town resident. She was educated in local schools and was a 1942 graduate of Franklin High School.

Mrs. Gianetti worked as a secretary for several area companies and institutions, including Dean Junior College, and retired from the Franklin Public School Department.

Her hobbies and interests included family, reading and travel.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Zeffro P. Gianetti of North Attleborough; a daughter, Susan G. Curren of Cumberland, R.I.; and four grandchildren, Michael Gianetti and Noelle, Liam and Elise Curren.

She was also the sister of the late Cornelius "Francis" Johnson, Edward Johnson, J. Gerald Johnson and Mary "May" Giancola.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, at 8:15 a.m., from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home (franklinfuneral.com), 33 Cottage St., with a funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, 1 Church Square, at 9 a.m.

Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Calling hours are today, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Rosemarie Hoar

FRANKLIN - Rosemarie Hoar, 82, of Franklin, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Milford Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.

Born in Norfolk, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Gately) Hoar, she lived in Franklin most of her life. She was educated in Norfolk and Walpole schools.

Until her retirement many years ago, she worked as a telephone operator for the former New England Telephone Co.

She was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, the Telephone Pioneers of America and a communicant of St. Mary Church in Franklin.

She leaves two brothers, Ralph Hoar of Franklin and Thomas Hoar of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Mildred Bonifazi of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Mary Levasseur and Lawrence Hoar.

A private family graveside service will be held at the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery in Franklin.

There are no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St.

 

Francis A. Pariseau Sr.

FRANKLIN - Francis A. Pariseau Sr., 80, of Franklin, a former resident of Rehoboth and South Attleborough, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford, following a long illness.

He was the husband of Barbara E. (Gross) Pariseau, who died in 1999.

Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Oliver J. and Eva M. (Tetreault) Pariseau, he lived in Franklin for more than 20 years. He was raised and educated in Central Falls.

An electrician, he worked for the Crawford Electric Co. in Pawtucket, R.I., for more than 27 years, and then for the J & H Electric Co. in Providence, R.I., until his retirement in 1985.

Mr. Pariseau served in the Air Force during World War II. He attained the rank of technical sergeant and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in April 1949.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Abbey in Wrentham, where he was a benefactor for the sisters at the abbey for more than 55 years. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 99 in Providence, R.I., the Franklin Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons and the St. Vincent de Paul Society in North Attleborough.

He leaves four sons, Christopher P. Pariseau of Arnold, Md., Francis A. Pariseau Jr. of Rehoboth, John O. and Mark T. Pariseau of Camden, Del.; three daughters, Donna M. Stearns and Rebecca L. Dean of South Attleborough and Phyllis J. Dwyer of North Smithfield, R.I.; three sisters, Anita Bousquet of Central Falls, Irene Garrigus of Attleboro and Constance Southworth of South Attleborough; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was also the brother of the late Raymond, Albert and George Pariseau, Anna Bouffard and Lillian Guindon.

Calling hours will be held today, from 3 to 6 p.m., in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Funeral Home (franklinfuneral.com), 33 Cottage St.

A vigil service will follow at Mount St. Mary's Abbey, 300 Arnold St., Wrentham, at 7:15 p.m.

The funeral will be celebrated at Mount St. Mary's Abbey Chapel, Thursday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m.

Burial with military honors will take place in the family lot in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Rte. 126, Attleboro.

Memorial donations may be sent to Mount St. Mary's Abbey, 300 Arnold St., Wrentham, MA 02093, or to the hospice of one's choice.
