Born on June 30, 1918 in Canada, Gisele was the daughter of Dowina and Hectorine (Desmarais) Joyal. She moved to the United States in 1942 upon her marriage to Aime A. Angers, who predeceased her back in 1970. Gisele worked for the Worcester School Department for 26 years, retiring in 1997 at the "young" age of 79. Most of her working years were spent as a cafeteria worker for Rice Square School, and later Roosevelt School. Gisele thoroughly enjoyed her work. She treasured being out with people and enjoying life. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Worcester and a former member of the Dames de St. Anne Organization. Gisele was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as a friend to so many. She never lost that genuine French accent that we will all surely miss. She enjoyed cooking and sewing as well as sharing laughter and conversation with her friends and family. Gisele was never short for words! Gisele leaves 2 sons, Bernard Angers and Marc Angers, both of Worcester along with a daughter, Cynthia Barnaby and her husband, Michael, of West Boylston. Gisele's daughter, Michele O'Leary, passed away in 2005. She also leaves a brother, Guy Joyal and his wife Lucille, three sisters, Suzanne Forte, Yolande Lasnier and Marthe Joyal, and a brother-in-law, Claude Ostiguy, all of Canada. She was predeceased by three brothers, Yvon Joyal, Jean-Leon Joyal and Gaetan Joyal, as well as a sister, Mariette Ostiguy. In memory of Gisele, the family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to all the devoted home health aides from Americare, the caring VNA nurses and volunteers, and especially the wonderful, supportive staff of Summit Eldercare who together allowed us to enjoy Gisele's laughter and spirit right up to the end. NADKARNI, Sara (Geary) Of Wrentham, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her home, with her family by her side. She was 64. Born in Huntington, Utah, she was the daughter of the late Merlin & Dora (Nielson) Geary. Wife of 40 years to Ravi Nadkarni, she was the mother of Maya Nadkarni, Asha Nadkarni and her husband Jason Moralee, and late Neela Nadkarni, who died in 1993. Sister of Marilyn Wagner, and her husband Dan, of Glenwood Springs CO, and Alyce Childs, and her husband Garth of Huntington UT. Her brothers & sisters in-law are Amar and Sheela Amembal of Newtown CT, Prakash Nadkarni of Danville PA and Rajani Nadkarni of Orange CT. Sara was a homemaker par excellence: an accomplished cook and baker who also enjoyed quilting, crochet, and many other crafts. Her friends knew her for her no-nonsense wit, unconditional support, and fierce games of Scrabble. Devoted to the happiness of her family and of others, Sara brightened the lives of all who knew her. She faced her long struggle with cancer with rare humor, courage, and grace, showing the same courage in confronting certain death that she did throughout her life. She had first faced cancer as a 40-year old with three young children, and over the years she dealt with the courses of surgery and chemotherapy with the positive attitude that characterized her approach to the world, concerned only for her family, friends and the causes she worked for and believed in. Even in her terminal illness, she was a source of strength to all around her, never losing her warmth, her gentle sense of humor and her concern for others. She taught us what the human spirit should be about, and her own spirit will continue to be with us and guide us. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to one or more of the following: Purr-fect Cat Shelter Inc., PO Box 548, Medway, MA 02053; Friends of Wrentham Seniors Inc., 400 Taunton Street Wrentham, MA 02093; or Wrentham Public Health Nurses, Town Hall, 79 South Street, Wrentham MA 02093.
