MILTON Rosemary G. Ahern Sullivan of Milton, died on December 3rd surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret M. Anderson MARSHFIELD Margaret "Peggy" Murphy Anderson, 79 of Marshfield died December 4, 2008, at home, after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Framingham Massachusetts, Margaret was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Murphy. Margaret was a graduate of Forsythe Dental School. She was a dental hygienist for a private practice in Framingham. During her time at Forsythe, Margaret met and later married John R. Anderson of Weymouth. They resided in Framingham for several years before moving to Marshfield, where they made their home for over 45 years. Margaret continued her career as a dental hygienist at private practices in Marshfield. She went on to be the elementary school dental hygienist for the Towns of Norwell and Rockland for over 20 years. She loved working with children, cleaning their teeth, and teaching them about dental health. Margaret loved to sew and made beautiful clothing. She also enjoyed needlepoint and gardening. She was a Girl Scout Leader and an active member of St. Christines Ladies Sedality. She was a devote follower of Saint Jude and supported the St. Judes Childrens fund. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, John R. Anderson, her cherished daughters Carol Anderson Flanagan of Grafton and Nancy Anderson Ahern of Marshfield and her precious grandchildren, Kellianne Flanagan of Grafton and John and Kaitlin Ahern of Marshfield as well as her sons-in-law Gerald Flanagan of Grafton and John Ahern of Marshfield. Her sister Mary Murphy Hill of Homosassa, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews also survive her. Her brother John A. Murphy, sister Ruth Murphy Williams and her beloved niece Linda Murphy Dallamora predeceased Margaret. In Taunton, December 3, 2008 Bill R. died in his home on Gray Lock Ave in Taunton at the age of 74. Bill was the husband of Joan (Gamache) Winders and the late Nancy (Rose) Winders. Born in Wise, Virginia and educated in Kentucky Bill was the son the late Walter and Gladys (Sugges) Winders. After graduating from high school, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force then moved to Taunton in 1955. He was a retired Metal Spinner for Norwell Manufacturing in East Taunton. He was the lead Guitar player in his band called “Touch of Country” for 40 Years. He loved country and western music and casinos. Susan (Karijanian) Boghossian, 79, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 from complications of ALS. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey and his wife Dianne, of Cranston, RI; her daughter, Cynthia and her husband Mark DerMugrditchian, of Whitinsville, MA; and her daughter, Christine and her husband Kasper Maksian, of Shrewsbury, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly and Jeffrey Boghossian, Lindsay and David DerMugrditchian, and Jenna Maksian; and her brother, Ashod Karijanian of Hilton Head, SC; nephews and a niece. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Susan was the daughter of Khachik and Alice (Melikian) Karijanian and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1947 before moving to Chicago. Susan lived in Pawtucket, RI for 45 years where she owned Your Bridal Shop. She lived in Greenville, RI, where she managed The Lakes, an adult community for several years before retiring and moving to Upton, MA in 2003. She was a member of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Whitinsville, the Upton Council on Aging, and served on many committees. Susan enjoyed reading, sketching and was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. Donald C Wheeler, aged 73 years, of Middleboro, passed away on Dec. 3, 2008, at Radius Health Care, Plymouth, after a 33 year battle with multiple sclerosis. He was the husband of Carol J (Kern) Wheeler; they had been married for 51 years. He was born in Taunton, son of the late George E and Elsie (Lockhart) Wheeler. He attended Middleboro schools, and was a graduate from Saunders Electronics School of Boston. He was a longtime member of the Central Congregational Church, Middleboro, where he sang in the choir for many years. He joined the United States Navy, in 1953, and was honored to be chosen to serve aboard the first atomic submarine, the U.S.S. Nautilus, as a member of its original crew. At the age of 18, he was the youngest member of that crew.  Before his illness, he was a cranberry grower, and established Cranberry Acres Incorporated. He enjoyed traveling, as well as hiking and skiing. He was a member of the Middleboro Ski Club and the Nautilus Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife of Middleboro, one son; Donald Scott Wheeler and his wife Barbara, one grandson; Curtis K Wheeler, all of Middleboro, one brother; Duane E Wheeler and his wife Sandra of Raynham. A time of visitation, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held on Mon. Dec. 8th from 10 to 11 am, with a memorial service to be held on Mon. at 11 am, in the Egger Funeral Home, 61 Pearl St. Middleboro. Burial will take place in Central Cemetery, Carver. Educated in Braintree, he received numerous awards for his outstanding athletic accomplishments in the areas of gymnastics, track and field. A lifelong accomplished musician he led his own band for many years. His love of nature, fish, wildlife and animals persisted throughout his life . Mary Carol was born June 4, 1941 in Quincy, MA, the daughter of Munroe and Clara Schatz MacLean, both deceased. Mary Carol was a 1959 graduate of Quincy High School, attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Lincoln University. She was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Agriculture, retiring as the Personnel Director in 1998. Mary Carol was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Joseph 'Ernie' Hachey of Leominster, Korean War vet; 79 LEOMINSTER Joseph "Ernie" Hachey, 79, of Leominster, died Thursday, December 4, 2008 in the Leominster Hospital. He was born in Fitchburg, on October 3, 1929, the son of the late Marcel and the late Alma (Bernard) Hachey. Mr. Hachey attended Leominster High School, graduating with the Class of 1949. He served during Korean War in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was a truck driver for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, later becoming a time keeper in the office. He worked for the Commonwealth for 22 years retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. He loved is 1965 Corvette. He leaves one sister, Eva Jerszyk of Hubbardston; one brother, Henry Hachey of Fitchburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Eric Hachey, and his sister, Alice Nadeau, both of Fitchburg. Kevin L. HANSON Mr. Frank M. Killeen Jr, 61, of Hanson, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Brockton Hospital after a short illness. The son of the late Francis M. and Ethel (Kilmartin) Killeen Sr, he was born in Boston on July 11, 1947. He was raised and educated in Roxbury and Fields Corner and lived in Weymouth before moving to Hanson 20 years ago. Mr. Killeen had worked in construction and later as a custodian in Weymouth Schools. Edith Harriet Lombard QUINCY Edith Harriet (McMahon) Lombard, age 90, died Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home in Norwell. She was the beloved wife of the late Leavitt S. Lombard and devoted mother survived by her loving children Donald Lombard and his wife Tina of Fairfax Station, VA, Carole Faneuf and her husband Edward of East Templeton, Glenda Larson and her husband Dean of Hanover, Patricia Vogel and her husband John of Avon, and Gail Sardano and her husband Michael of Hanover. She was a loving and supportive Grandmother to her 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. As a resident of Quincy for nearly 60 years, she was an active member of Union Congregational Church of Wollaston where shed taught Sunday school and served on various ministry activities. She was a member of the Quincy Historical Society, proudly savored her Irish heritage, and enthusiastically pursued her extensive hobbies of sewing, photography, crafts, and gardening. Mrs. Lombard was born in Hopkinton NH, daughter of the late Bertha May Dunn and William Lee McMahon. She was predeceased by her three brothers: Leon, Charles and Clifford Todd and sister, Doris May McClenning. She graduated from the Keene NH High School, and was inducted as a member of the National Honor Society. Her interest and abilities in athletic activities led her to positions on the womens varsity basketball team and that of the goalie on the womens field hockey team. Mrs. Lombard worked as an office manager at the Peerless Ins. Co. in Keene, N.H. until she and her husband relocated to Quincy 60 years ago. She was a high school graduate. Mrs. McGeary owned and operated the Doris McGeary Dance Studio in Webster from 1954 to 1981, when she retired. She enjoyed dance and exercise. Charles W. O'Donoghue, 57, of 127 Main St., died on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at UMass Memorial Healthcare-Univesity Campus in Worcester after a brief illness. He is survived by a daughter, Catherine St. Hilaire and her husband Andrew of Medford; a son, Casey S. O'Donoghue and his wife Rachel of Santa Fe, NM; his mother, Pauline O'Donoghue of Clinton; two sisters: Patricia Rue and her husband David of Sebastian, FL, and Sheila Binder and her husband Larry; and a brother, Michael J. O'Donoghue, all of Clinton. He leaves two nieces: Kerry Horne of Worcester, and Meaghan O'Donoghue of Clinton; a nephew, Joshua O'Donoghue of Clinton, and many dear friends. He deeply loved and remembered his son, Justin K. O'Donoghue-Burgwinkle, and is predeceased by his father, James M. O'Donoghue; loving grandmother, Marie Renaud; and first wife, Diane (Robinson) Burgwinkle. Charles was born in Clinton to Pauline M. (Renaud) O'Donoghue and the late James M. O'Donoghue. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1969. Charlie was a career machinist specializing in tool and die, and was most recently employed with the Res-Tech Corporation in Clinton. He was employed for nearly fifteen years with the William Reisner Corporation in Clinton, and formerly worked as a driller with the Soil Expiration Company. An avid sportsman, Charlie took great pleasure in fishing and target shooting, and enjoyed diving excursions as a certified scuba diver for many years. Funeral services are to be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. QUINCY Roy M. Smith, Jr., passed away at Marina Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Center on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at age 88. Born in Quincy, he was a Hough's Neck resident all his life. A WWII Navy veteran, Roy was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a sheet metal worker for Local 17. He was athletic and played hockey and baseball at Quincy High and later for teams on the South Shore, and remained an avid hockey fan. Married for 65 years to his beloved wife Catherine M. (Griffin) Smith, Roy is the beloved father of Catherine Smith and Janet Sullivan, both of Quincy and Roy M. Smith III and his wife Mary of Duxbury and dear grandfather of Erin Sullivan and her husband Ryan Leuchte, Roy M. Smith IV, Timothy J. Smith and Jillian M. Smith. He was the brother of Annie S. Hurry of Quincy and the late Stephen Smith and Sadie Smith. Ruth P. Soares of Winthrop, family in Leominster; 87 WINTHROP Mrs. Ruth P. (Flanagan) Soares, age 87, of Winthrop, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, in the Abbott House Nursing Home, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Retired Winthrop Firefighter Manuel "Jack" Soares. Born in Winthrop, Ruthie was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Lillian G. (Fraser) Flanagan. She attended Winthrop Schools, and was a graduate of Winthrop High School Class of 1939. She has made her home in Winthrop her entire life. She enjoyed ceramics and bingo. Most important, however, was caring for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Summer vacations to "Merrymont" were always the highlight of the year. She was a longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Winthrop. Ruthie's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Abbott House Nursing Home for their never-ending care and love to Ruthie in her final months. Richard L. Stone, 78, of 19 Cricklewood Dr., died Friday, Dec. 5 at Radius Healthcare in Worcester. He was the husband of Ann J. (Harris) Stone, who died Nov. 20th. He leaves his brother, Russell F. Mr. Stone was a rural postal carrier for the Leicester Post Office, where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. Born in Leicester, he was the son of Francis and Evelyn (Hasking) Stone. He graduated from Leicester High School and was a member of the American Legion Post #443 in Cherry Valley, and the Leicester Rod & Gun Club.
