Aug. 25, 2007 - Milford, MA - The Milford Daily News: "Marie DeSousa MILFORD - Marie DeSousa, 87, of Milford, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joao R. DeSousa, who died in 1991. She was born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Theresa and Louis Moriera, and was a lifelong Milford resident living in the Prospect Heights area of Milford. She retired from the former Karteganer's and Lisch Hat Factory in Upton. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making crafts. She also loved to travel and go to casinos. She is survived by one son, John R. DeSousa and his wife, Andrea, of Milford; four sisters, Lydia Alves, Rose Diomedes, Linda Alisch and Gloria Gandolfi, all of Milford; two grandchildren, John A. DeSousa and his wife, Melissa, of Milford and Angela J. Hagerty and her husband, Robert, of Marshfield; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Hagerty and Jack Hagerty of Marshfield. She was also the sister of the late Oracio Moriera. A funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 27, at 9 a.m., from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Winter Street. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery on Cedar St. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m."
